MISINTERPROTATO DEBUT UK TOUR

Acclaimed Brisbane trio UK release and tour Jan/Feb 2010

Misinterprotato are an established and compelling ensemble in the Australian contemporary music scene. This hugely dynamic trio music draws on the avant-rock of Radiohead, ECM minimalism and their love of improvisation in an entrancing Australian echo of the European jazz innovations of the likes of EST or Tord Gustavsen. Founded in 1999 when the three members met whilst studying at the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane, their unique sound is driven by award winning pianist Sean Foran, expansive, dynamic percussionist John Parker, and visceral double bassist Patrick Marchisella.

”Variations” their third album, released locally on the Jazzhead label is now the first to be released internationally, on the boutique British label NAIM. Naim will be releasing the album remastered and also online in high definition audio on January 25th.
The trio head to the UK for a tour to support the release from JAN 26 - FEB 6 with dates at the Vortex, Leeds College of Music, Glasgow City Hall and many more.

In an interesting twist we are releasing the album and touring with a new band name - “TRICHOTOMY”.... just for the UK :)
